Good morning all. Was out fishing Thursday, what a great day. Winds have finally calmed down and the seas are flat. Left the dock at 6am with three clients. 5 min out and we see tons of sardines and 5 families of humpback whales feeding. We set out some big rapalas and bam,bam two big Jacks. did another run around the bait and bam another big Jack. Today was an offshore trip so i started heading out to one of my spots. Blue water everywhere. within 30-45 min we hook and land a sail fish about 140lbs. Did a few more circles saw another 5. These guys never got a marlin before so i head off to one of my other spots. Small dorado jumping everywhere ,with something chasing them. I set out the marlin gear and start running the lines. After about 45min i see a Marlin coming in from the side, i yell get ready! by the time the Marlin reached the center of my spread there was a bait in front of his face and wham! Marlin on! All three clients got a chance to fight the fish before we released it ( approx 275-300lb, the smallest we got this season) There are Marlin here in Nicaragua, big marlin. Two or three weeks ago a Big black marlin came up( in the 900Lb+ category). He’s on my list and i know where he hangs out. My goal this year is to hook that bad boy! The Biggest Blue Marlin this year was 650Lbs+. We have raised bill fish on every trip this year except 3.
